There is great power in our combined efforts. Vibrant Health is thrilled to announce a total of over $200,000 was raised at the second annual Vibrant Voices event at Memorial Hall in Kansas City, Kansas.
More than 300 attendees enjoyed inspired conversations and a motivating program featuring keynote speaker, Ana Navarro. Ana Navarro is a co-host on ABC’S “The View”, CNN political commentator, and a human rights activist. Navarro previously served as ambassador to the United Nation’s Human Rights Commission. Additionally, she has worked in the private sector, representing private and public clients on federal issues related to immigration, trade, and policy affecting Central America.
“We all have a responsibility to consume truth, and from the voice of a first generation immigrant, the truth is it is mostly good people, who come to this country, sacrificing everything to make a better life for their family. To be an American is to share the collective experiences of one another; not giving up my culture, my community, my heritage or my traditions, but integrating them into becoming one beautiful American tradition.” -Ana Navarro
Vibrant Voices, presented by Vibrant Health, is an annual event featuring national and local perspectives focused on the deep relationship between public health and other related topics. The goal of the event was to create an intentional space for learning, connection, and meaningful conversations.
This year, guests were able to experience an incredible local panel discussing public health and immigration. Featuring Andrea Perdomo-Morales, Chief Health Equity Officer at Vibrant Health, Rev. Mang Sonna, Executive Director at Bethel Neighborhood Center, and Greg Valdovino, Vice President, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce.
KCK native and 41 News Anchor, Sarah Plake, was the emcee for the evening. Being deeply passionate about social justice and community-level issues, Sarah knows the impact that bringing a community together can have.
All proceeds from Vibrant Voices helps children, adults, and families served by Vibrant Health and allow us to further our mission to reduce health disparities and increase access to care in Wyandotte County and surrounding communities.
A special thank you to our Health Innovators sponsors, event sponsors and committee, speakers, donors, staff, and volunteers who made our Vibrant Voices event a success. We hope everyone left inspired to join us as leaders in making our community healthier for everyone. Stay tuned for #VibrantVoices25!
