The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, through the Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA) has designated Vibrant Health as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). This designation comes along with an initial $650,000 annual grant to support access to health care.
HRSA is the federal agency that oversees the country’s 1,400 community health centers, which serve over 28 million Americans annually. The award was given to 77 health centers across the country from an estimated 700 applicants. Vibrant Health was one of two health centers in Kansas to receive the grant. The award provides our organization with a reliable source of significant funding each year.
In addition to direct federal funding, FQHC designation will provide enhanced Medicare and Medicaid reimbursements, and allow Vibrant Health to offer valuable medication discounts to patients through a 340B Drug Pricing Program Pharmacy.
CEO Patrick Sallee is excited for the opportunity to expand services and programs to the community.
“This is a really big day for Vibrant Health. A lot of hard work and dedication from our staff and board members over the last three years made this happen. We are committed to providing quality and accessible health care to members of the community and this grant award allows us the opportunity to increase access that families need and deserve.”
Vibrant Health is thrilled to receive this designation, and committed to continuously providing quality health care to families in Wyandotte County.
